As Simeon entered the world of engineering, it was the rather novel Biomedical field that drew his attention. He received his masters’ degree in 2020 and was lucky enough to start his PhD, around developing a screening device for cardiovascular diseases, in the midst of a raging Covid-related quarantine. As biomedical engineer, he attempts to understand and model the behavior of the human body using all available engineering tools. Because most useful biomedical data is gathered from biomedical signals, it only made sense to include prof. Madhu’s invaluable signal-processing expertise in their projects.
Ever since, Simeon functions (or at least tries to!) as the bridge between the signal processing and the more medical side of things.
